Description
Nia Devetzis and Darren Young will be presenting an evening of contemporary/classical music for guitar and percussion duo, and solo works for their respective instruments. This evening will surely stretch your ears with works for classical and electric guitar, marimba, and flowerpots.
Nia Devetzis is a percussionist driven by the vivid and vast world of contemporary music, whether as a soloist or chamber musician. As a teaching artist, she is dedicated to education through performance and instruction, leading by example and questioning audience expectations by asking, what exactly is percussion?
Multi-instrumentalist, composer, music director, and educator Darren Young is an exciting artist with a diverse palette. His music spans a wide array of genres, including classical, post rock, prog, shoegaze, electronic, noise, and jazz. A classically trained guitarist and double bassist, Darren’s music has received international press coverage from Prog Magazine, Metal Hammer, Classic Rock Magazine, and the CBC.
