Thursday Songwriting Circle – ZENON+, Jonny Chavez, Rome IX and Taylr

ZENON is a Calgary based lyricist & vocalist who writes and sings original music notably influenced by Rhythm & Blues and Soul. A bi-racial musician who was introduced to a wide range of music from around the world, ZENON has a ‘genre inclusive’ style that is innate and embodies pure diversity, creating music with captivating lyrics that explore human & social experiences and delivering a performance with powerful rich vocals. ZENON has released co-writes with others and two solo singles; one released in February 2020 titled Something About and the most recent released in May 2021 titled What It Was. Her music can be found on all streaming platforms, she can be seen performing solo and in her duo ZENON+ in and around the Calgary area, at live music venues, festivals, events and online live streams. Rome IX is a Canadian Indie-Soul artist . A musician, actor and aspiring filmmaker, the multidisciplinary artist currently resides in Calgary. “Forever a student of the human condition”, Rome says he draws inspiration from personal and observed experiences. His love for deep lyrics, storytelling and soulful arrangements is influenced by artists such as Jason Mraz, Miguel, and Stevie Wonder. Continuing off his singles “Feel This” & “I Can Be”, Rome is currently in pre-production on his first album.Jonny Chavez is an Canadian composer and multi-instrumentalist from Calgary, Alberta. Raised in a Latino/Caribbean church, he is inspired by the rhythms of gospel, hip-hop, reggaeton, and soul. While studying jazz in university, jonny has shared the stage with artists such as Thundercat, MAGIC!, and Moon HoochTAYLR is a singer-songwriter from the west coast currently living in Calgary. Referred to as the “thinking person’s songwriter” by Jamspere Magazine, TAYLR’s lyrics take their listeners through colourful imagery about the complexities of life and love. While exploring the genres of folk, RnB, soul and indie, TAYLR has found a unique blend of ear catching melody and captivating tone that is reflected in each song, weaving a technicolour story for each listener to fall into.
