Independent Albertan folk/roots duo Flint & Feather are a free-spirited husband and wife team who are deeply passionate about connecting with people through sharing folk/roots music, stories, and laughter. As international touring artists and award-winning songwriters, co-members Joal and Lauren Kamps have enjoyed performing music festivals, concert series, showcases, house concerts, and other community events in North America, Western Europe, and the United Kingdom.
Based in Calgary, AB the Kamps blend storytelling, songwriting, and humour to create charming ‘Rocky Mountain Folk-Pop’ songs inspired by Canadian history, rocky mountain folklore, and their own personal journeys. Their original compositions are filled with vivid lyrical imagery, delicate vocal harmonies, and classical guitar/piano interplay – and their honest and engaging approach to live performance authentically connects with listeners of all ages and backgrounds.
Liz is an Alberta-based Pop/Country Artist influenced by artists such as Kacey Musgraves, Taylor Swift and Fleetwood Mac.
Her new single, “I Really Like You” (July 2021), is a cotton candy pop bop with conversational lyrics and synth elements from the ‘80s. “This is a song about catching feelings for someone.” says Liz. “It wrote itself in 40 minutes one night and means the world to me.”
“I Really Like You” was produced by Mark Troyer at Evergreen Sound (Calgary, AB).
Liz’s previous singles, “Summertime” (2020) and “Different Shoulders” (2020) embodied a rootsy, storyteller vibe. Liz released her debut single “Fences” (2018) and was a winner of 96.5 CKFM’s (Olds, Alberta) Star Search (2018).
