Love, Latin and maybe a little Blue

Alltimate Music sprang out of a fantastical dream of Madhu’s – after so many years of playing in big bands -could she translate the beauty and energy of the great jazz standards into the simplicity of a trio?
She thinks it’s possible with this crew-so they are playing favourite tunes from the 1920s onwards with strong roots in jazz but playing Latin, pop and blues if the song is right.

Madhu has been playing the sax for many years in bands big and small, featured as a lead player and soloist and now brings her melodic vocals to the mix.

Doug Paddock is an amazing drummer/percussionist well known on the Calgary music scene who now adds the bass to his many talents and the group.

Gabriel Zacharias has burst onto the Calgary scene as an amazing, authentic Brazilian jazz guitarist with sold out music shows and was a  featured artist in the recent Jazz YYC Summerfest.
We are fortunate to have him in the trio to lend his guitar talents and vocals in what should be an amazing collaboration.

Madhu says these are some of my favorite songs with 2 of my favourite musicians to collaborate with.

Please come to have a great brunch and support live music and our host Scott at the Asylum for Art.
