The SHOW…

From the earliest forms of flamenco, infused with Gregorian chant and ancient melodies, this evening of flamenco takes audiences on a journey to the exciting shores of contemporary, world music, classical and beyond. Infused with pulsating flamenco rhythms, song and guitar –  two dancers who began dancing, teaching and learning flamenco in Calgary over 20 years ago are reunited on stage. Anastassiia Alexander, a Russian born, Mexican flamenco dancer trained in Madrid, Spain and Fiona Malena, a Calgary born international touring dancer, now residing in Berlin, Germany. Joining them are special guest artist guitarist Jake Lee “Chinito” from Victoria, singer Silvia Temis just returning from an intensive training program in Madrid this summer and local flamenco guitar favourite Michael Boyle.
