The SHOW…

Chordal Accord is an exploration of the possibilities, and restrictions that apply when two chordal instruments play together. Augustine Yates and Christian Saulnier Ferguson use improvisation, original compositions, and select standards to express the findings of these explorations.

Christian Saulnier-Ferguson is a guitar player and composer in Medicine Hat Alberta. He is largely self taught, studying jazz since his late teens. Christian performs live in a variety of settings and genres, including jazz, rock, funk, and experimental music. He has contributed to many projects, including the Ciara Hager Quartet, and his own improvisational trio, “Phat Daphne

Canadian pianist Augustine Yates shines as both a composer and performer. His music values improvisation and focuses on interplay within the ensemble. Yates is a soloist, chamber musician, and composer who enjoys a career in classical and jazz music. He frequently performs in venues across Canada, such as The Rex, Lula Lounge, Burdock, and numerous Canadian jazz festivals. His debut record of original compositions, An Open Window, released January 21, 2022, and was Nominated for Jazz Recording of the Year during the 2022 YYC Music Awards.
