Al Muirhead and Paul Ashwell front this dynamic quintet playing in the tradition of the legendary Kai Winding/JJ Johnson quintet from the 1950s. However, instead of two trombones fronting the band, Al performs on bass trumpet and Paul on baritone horn. The group will be performing original arrangements written by Al and Paul in what promises to a very fun evening of music. Backing up the brass will be an all-star Calgary rhythm section featuring Michelle Gregoire on piano, John Gray on bass and Jim Johnston on drums
