About Lesson

Lovely Landscape / Cityscape

Drawing with pen and ink can be intimidating at first, but in this class students will learn techniques for building and creating texture in drawings using only fine lines and points. Starting with light pencil outlines, and then progressing to pens, students will make a landscape using techniques such as hatching, cross-hatching, and stippling, and will learn the principles of the Golden Section, negative and positive space, and what they mean on paper. Students will focus on textures and how they create the appearance of grass, wood, brick, waves, and more.

Materials needed (supplied, but feel free to bring your own): Pencil and eraser, Paper (smooth with not too much tooth, markers of your choice, and a ruler.
